Interviewing Children: How to Talk and How to Listen

Communicating with children about parenting disputes can be a challenge.  This training on the art and science of interviews will provide a framework for talking with children about themselves and their important relationships.  We will also cover tips for enhancing the reliability of the information children provide.

Mindy F. Mitnick, EdM, MA is a Licensed Psychologist practicing in Minneapolis.  She received a Master of Education from Harvard University and a Master of Arts from the University of Minnesota.  She specializes in work with families in the divorce process and with victims of abuse and their families.  Ms. Mitnick has written about trained professionals throughout the US and Canada on many topics related to family law and child abuse.  Ms. Mitnick served as a member of the Minnesota Custody Dialogue Group that rewrote the state’s Best Interest Factors. She has been elected as Treasurer and continues to serve on the Board of AFCC.
